Teachers must review Platform Content before use — especially for ATAR courses
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Sky Network Pty Ltd (ABN 63 145 355 353) ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") regarding your access to and use of TeacherAI ("the Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Service.
If you are using the Service on behalf of a school, educational institution, or organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
TeacherAI is an educational technology platform that enables teachers to create, deliver, and manage personalised learning experiences for their students. The Service includes:
To use the Service as a teacher, you must:
Shareable consent link: teachers may generate a shareable parent-consent link and share it with the parents/guardians of their students. This is optional and off by default — a link exists only if you choose to create one, and creating one indicates your consent to receive consent submissions from parents who open it. Consent submitted through your link is routed to your account email; your email address is not displayed in the link or to the public. You can revoke or regenerate your link at any time, which immediately disables any link you previously shared.
Parent accounts allow a parent or legal guardian to manage their children's learning on TeacherAI. Each parent account represents a single household (family). You must:
A "Family Pass" or family subscription covers all children within a single household. Using a single parent account or family subscription to provide access for children from multiple households or families constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in account suspension or termination in accordance with Section 13.
If you are operating a homeschool co-op, tutoring service, or educational group that includes children from multiple families, each family must maintain their own separate parent account and subscription. Alternatively, contact us about our institutional plans.
Student accounts are created by teachers or parents. Teachers are responsible for:

Each TeacherAI account represents a single individual teacher or educator. Accounts are personal and non-transferable. You must not:
Homeschool providers, tutoring centres, co-ops, and other multi-teacher organisations must purchase separate accounts for each teacher who uses the platform. A single parent educating their own children is exempt from this requirement.
Family subscriptions ("Family Pass") are licensed for use by a single household. A "household" means one family living at the same residential address. You must not:
If we detect usage patterns indicating that a single family subscription is being used by multiple households (e.g., children logging in from multiple distinct locations, unusual numbers of children for a single family, or reports of account sharing), we may take enforcement action as described in Section 5.7. Each additional family must purchase their own subscription.
Student accounts must represent real, enrolled students actively participating in your classes. You must not:
AI-powered features (including AI marking, feedback, and student chat) are provided for legitimate educational use within your classes. You must not:
We reserve the right to throttle, suspend, or restrict AI features for accounts that exhibit usage patterns inconsistent with normal educational use.

We monitor usage patterns to detect potential violations of these Terms, including but not limited to: unusual account sharing patterns, disproportionate AI usage, rapid bulk account creation, and free tier exploitation. If we detect activity that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, we may:
We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before taking enforcement action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service or other users.
You retain ownership of all original content you create and upload to the Service, including lessons, assessments, and educational materials ("Your Content"). By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:
This licence ends when you delete Your Content or close your account, except for content that has been shared with or accessed by students.
All content provided by TeacherAI, including pre-built lessons, widgets, games, and the platform itself ("TeacherAI Content"), is owned by us or our licensors. You may use TeacherAI Content solely for educational purposes within the Service.
"Course" means a structured set of learning content made available within the TeacherAI platform for assignment to classes. Courses function as organisational containers for chapters, lessons, activities, and assessments and may reference curriculum frameworks for alignment. Courses do not constitute official curriculum documents or syllabi.
Curriculum frameworks, syllabi, and official curriculum documents referenced within the Service are the intellectual property of their respective authorities (including but not limited to ACARA, SCSA, NESA, VCAA, QCAA, and state/territory Departments of Education). References are used solely for educational alignment and contextual purposes. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership or licensing rights of such materials to TeacherAI or its users. Where applicable, Australian Curriculum references are used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) licence with attribution to ACARA. Excluded materials (including logos, trademarks, and third-party content) remain subject to their own terms.
Names of state and territory instructional, pedagogical, or teaching frameworks — including but not limited to Teaching for Impact (WA), High Impact Teaching Strategies and the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VIC), What Works Best and Explicit Teaching (NSW), Teaching for Effective Learning / TfEL (SA), the Pedagogical Framework (TAS), and the corresponding QLD, NT and ACT frameworks — are the property of their respective state and territory education departments or authorities. TeacherAI references these names solely to describe how its lesson structure aligns, on an evidence basis, with the pedagogical approaches each department promotes. Such references do not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship by, endorsement by, or approval by any department or authority, and do not transfer any ownership or licensing rights. TeacherAI is an independent product and is not an official or endorsed provider for any department or authority.
Student responses, submissions, and work product remain the intellectual property of the student (or their parent/guardian for minors). Teachers may access and use this work for educational assessment purposes only.
TeacherAI is an educational technology platform, not a curriculum publisher, textbook provider, or registered training organisation. All pre-built lessons, chapters, activities, practice sets, and assessments ("Platform Content") are prepared in good faith to assist teachers in delivering engaging and curriculum-aligned learning experiences. However:
By assigning Platform Content to a class, you confirm that you have reviewed or accept responsibility for reviewing its accuracy and suitability before students access it. We are not liable for any academic, reputational, or other harm arising from inaccuracies in Platform Content, including in the context of ATAR or senior secondary courses. See also Sections 10 and 11.
If you choose to share content you have created through the TeacherAI marketplace or content sharing features, you retain ownership of that content. By publishing content to the marketplace, you grant TeacherAI and other users of the Service a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:
You represent and warrant that you have the right to share any content you publish and that such content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party. You may withdraw shared content from the marketplace at any time, though copies already in use by other teachers may remain accessible.
Subscription fees are paid for access to the TeacherAI platform, including software features, hosting, analytics, and AI-powered tools. Subscription fees do not purchase ownership of curriculum frameworks, syllabi, or any third-party materials.
The Free plan provides limited access to the Service at no cost. Features and limitations are described on our pricing page and may change over time.
The Professional plan and other paid subscriptions are billed annually in advance. By subscribing, you agree to:
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable, except as required by Australian Consumer Law. If you are unsatisfied with the Service, please contact us within 30 days of purchase to discuss options.
We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will take effect at your next renewal period.
TeacherAI uses artificial intelligence to provide automated marking, feedback, and other features. You acknowledge that:
Schools are responsible for configuring student AI access in line with their policy obligations. When student-facing AI features are disabled, TeacherAI operates as a standard LMS for teaching, assessment workflows, and progress tracking.
Where AI-enabled checks are used, processing is limited to lesson/assessment content and does not include student personal information.
TeacherAI supports organization-level and class-level AI controls, and schools may disable AI-assisted features more broadly where required by policy.
By enabling or using AI-assisted marking features, schools and teachers accept responsibility for independent review, moderation, and recordkeeping of marks and supporting student work.
TeacherAI stores full server-side transcripts of all student AI chat interactions (lesson chat, AI tutor, explanation rating, pre-submission checks, and prompt engineering practice). This storage is maintained to meet Australian child safety standards, school audit obligations, and emerging regulatory requirements under the Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024 (automated decision-making transparency) and the anticipated OAIC Children's Online Privacy Code. Transcripts enable schools to audit AI interactions with students and investigate AI-generated feedback if concerns arise. Full transcripts are retained for 12 months. Where enabled by a school or teacher, the Service provides integrity and originality tools that surface signals about how student work was produced — for example, editing and process evidence, writing-style analysis, and comparison of the work against online sources. You acknowledge and agree that:
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information, including student data. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy.

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that:
We expressly disclaim any warranty that Platform Content is fit for use in high-stakes educational contexts, including senior secondary, ATAR, or tertiary entrance qualification programs. Teachers and schools assume all responsibility for verifying content before use.
This disclaimer does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, damage, or harm arising from inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in Platform Content, including:
Teachers and schools who use Platform Content in senior secondary or ATAR programs do so at their own risk and accept sole responsibility for verifying content accuracy.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for claims arising from AI-assisted marking outputs, including alleged marking inaccuracy, grading outcomes, student disadvantage, or reputational impact resulting from reliance on AI-assisted outputs.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss, corruption, or unavailability of assessment records where schools or teachers have not maintained independent records through export or other local recordkeeping processes.
Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 AUD, whichever is greater.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or to our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sky Network Pty Ltd and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. For paid subscriptions, cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately if you:
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.
Before commencing legal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us. We will work in good faith to reach an amicable resolution.
